Allies

BACK_TO_TOP

The Allies are a group of nations that have allied to face a greater danger: The Soviet Empire. Headed up by America, the Allies defeated the Soviet war machine in the last Great War. At a time when the world was to be completely overwhelmed by Stalin's unquenchable greed; they stepped in, and with their superior intelligence and technology, were able to push the Iron Curtin back beyond it's own boarders. And slowly, one by one, each Soviet strong hold was destroyed - all the way up to the Kremlin. The Allies had done it; not by overwhelming numbers, not by sheer power, but by brains. And, now with the role of peacekeeper to play, the world is once again at peace...or so we think.
Playing as an Allied commander, you have choosen to carry the flag of freedom once again. The Allied player is resourceful, possessing many high-tech weapons that the Soviets do not - such as the Spy Satellite and Gap Generator. You will soon find out that, with these tools combined with even more powerful assault tanks, they are the side with the "know-how" to get the job done. The Allies are clearly designed to give the player a good look at the situation, and, with a few key units, attack and push the enemy back. If they possess any weakness, it is of their light armor; which is why you must be very careful in your decisions.
THe Soviet forces are on the move once again, Commander. There have been reported sightings of troops crossing into Mexico, and our early warning systems mysteriously going offline. Should a conflict arise, you must use our weapons wisely; our other allies stand ready to assist us: Great Britain, Korea, France, and Germany. Remember, the Allied forces are not designed for head on conflicts, and past tactics have proven this true. Stay loyal to your stripes, stay true to freedom, and God help us all.

Soviets

BACK_TO_TOP

The Soviet Union was once a proud nation. It once had a military that struck fear in the hearts of all who spoke their name. Its borders reached from continent to continent, from Europe to Asia. Its people were many, and its soldiers numbered in the millions. But now, at the turn of the century, everything has changed. No longer is there a proud military to tell stories about. No longer is there such a strong nation, one that would strike fear into everyone who spoke of it. Stalin's vision of world domination have failed. And now the Soviets' Motherland lies in ruin, it's economy found to be shattered.
At the end of their victory against the Soviet menace, the Allies sought to rebuild the Soviets' economy and infrastructure. Slowly but surely, it was eventually rebuilt, and with it the scars of war were set...set in the mind of one man: General Romonov. As a young boy, he remembers seeing Allied troops marching down the streets of Moscow, seeing his country devastated by their hand. Romanov was set into power as a puppet dictator, or so the Allies thought. How could he forgive them for what they had once done to his homeland? The very power who had brought this once glorious nation to it's knees, and now they would tell them how to live; certainly not, Romanov would not allow this torture to go on forever. So he played to their rules and secretly built up and re-armed his military with new weapons. Apocalypse Tanks would give him the overwhelming advantage in head to head battle; yes, the Soviet army would possess the most firepower in any engagement. This time, he was certain the Soviets would succeed, and teach those American scumbags what true destruction is.
And as the conflict followed, the Allies would indeed learn this lesson - the hard way. Being vastly outgunned and taken by surprise, they would need new weapons of their own - but not firepower, intelligence, and the art of spying and information gathering. Truly the stage is set: Will you choose the strong firepower of the Soviet Union, or will you choose the Allies' high-tech weaponry to denture this eminent threat?
