Rifle_Infantry

Description: This, the cheapest infantry unit, carries a small gun. Useful almost solely in groups, it is possible to kill a tank with a few Rifle Infantry, as long as they don't get run over. When a structure is destroyed, these infantry appear - as they were once operating the respective structure.



Grenadier

Speed: Medium-Slow
Description: Grenadiers, the quickest infantry, throw grenades at the enemy. They are very good at taking out slow moving infantry or anything stationary, and their speed make them a good canidate for a sneaky attack at the start of a game.



Attack_Dog

Speed: Slow
Description: The Attack Dog can only attack infantry, so they are not a very good asset. But, Attack Dogs are essential units because they are the only unit that can automatically find and kill enemy Spies for you, and a pack of them can kill Tanya before she has time to shoot them. Unfortunately, Dogs are often not trained because of their expense.



Engineer

Description: An often under-used, but very useful unit, the Engineer can repair all friendly structures to full strength - instantly. If they enter an enemy building, Engineers destroy around 25% of the respective building. If the building is already below 25% strength, the Engineer captures it. A captured building is treated as one of your own, as you now possess all the abilities of that structure.



Flamethrower

Description: Flamethrowers are very slow, but very powerful. These infantry units can kill groups of enemy infantry with only a few of shots, and are also very good against wooden enemy structures - such as Power Plants. However, if the Flamethrower were to die - they go up in flames, usually engulfing nearby friendly units at the same time.




Ore_Truck

Description: Certainly the most important unit in the game, Ore Trucks are needed to collect raw Ore and Gems and take them to the Refinery - the only way that you are able to make money. They have good armor, but no defenses whatsoever - so keep this vital unit protected.



AP_Mine_Layer

Speed: Fast
Description: The Anti-Personnel Mine Layer plants mines on the battlefield, those of which are especially lethal against infantry, as you might expect. The planted mines can only be seen by the player who planted them, and can seriously damage an incoming enemy infantry squad who is unlucky enough to drive through the minefield. These mines are totally ineffective against vehicles.



Heavy_Tank

Description: The Heavy Tank is the most cost-effective unit around. It is similar to the Medium tank with the exception of its dual powerful turret guns. A large group of these tanks can only really be stopped by another large group of them, or a much larger group of Medium Tanks. Strangely, it is not effective against infantry - its best defense against whom is to simply run them over.



Mammoth_Tank

Description: Slow and expensive, the Mammoth Tank can be extremely effective when found in large groups. They are difficult to destroy thanks to heavy armor, which heals itself up to half strength. This very useful tank can also fire upon aircraft, and is effective against infantry too, making it a good all-around unit.



V2_Rocket_Launcher

Description: The V2 Rocket Launcher fires very powerful rockets over a long range. Two of these effective units can take out most buildings with just one shot each, while staying out of range of enemy defenses at the same time.



Mobile_Construction_Vehicle

Description: Deploying one of these slow and bulky units will create a Construction Yard; the MCV has no other purpose, but, even so, it is one of the most useful units around.




Chinook

Speed: Slow
Description: The Chinook transport helicopter can transport up to five infantry units anywhere on the map that has previously been uncovered. It possesses no weapons, and, being quite weak, it is a vulnerable target. But if the Chinook makes it to the enemy base with a few Tanya's inside, it can cause havoc for the enemy, especially as it doesn't show up on the radar when flying. The helicopter is best used when you have created another distraction for the enemy to contend with.



Hind

Production Time: 60 sec.
Speed: Slow
Description: Equipped with chain guns, a group of Hinds will cause a large amount of damage to any structure or unit, although a single craft cannot do significant damage to anything other than infantry. The helicopter can land anywhere on the map, not just on their Helipads. One Hind is included in the cost of building a Soviet Helipad.



Yak

Weapon: Dual Chain Guns

Production Time: 40 sec.
Speed: Medium-Fast
Description: The original Soviet attack plane, Yaks are slow and weak, and are relatively expensive. Their chain guns are inaccurate and not very powerful except against infantry. This aircraft is not worth building when Migs are available, but are occasionally useful in some missions.



Mig

Speed: Very Fast
Description: The best aircraft in the sky is the Mig. A group of six of these deadly planes can destroy any building if they are not shot down before releasing their powerful and accurate missiles. This can be quite expensive, but targeting a Construction Yard or other important structure may mean the enemy loses more than you do. Migs are not very good against moving targets, and they can only land on their designated Airfields.




Transport

Description: This naval unit can carry up to five land units (including tanks) at a great speed and in a relatively safe manner. Though it can only load and unload on shores, the Transport is very useful for surprise attacks from where the opponent wouldn't expect them.



Submarine

Production Time: 48 sec.
Speed: Medium
Description: Lurking underwater, this is the only Soviet naval unit that can go undetected, unless it fires on an enemy naval unit or strays very close to one. Unfortunately, they can only fire their Torpedoes against other naval units, thus making them only really useful if the enemy has Allied boats that need to be dealt with.
